There’s an app for that

Our Family Wizard is a new app that aims to facilitate co-parenting between separated and divorced parents. The app stores important family information (i.e. medical contacts, emergency phone numbers, information on upcoming doctor’s appointments), and has a custody and access calender so both parents always know what the access schedule is. The journal feature allows a parent to create a journal for the child detailing what happened during an access visit so that there isn’t a need to communicate this information to an ex verbally or through email.

Generally speaking, not having to communicate directly with an ex tends to minimize conflict, so the app might prove useful in that regard. Also, I think one parent might have to invest a fair amount of time to upload information to the application and keep it updated, and both parties would have to agree to communicate through the application rather than through phone or email.
